Clyde Orchards discovered this unique variety of stonefruit while travelling in France several years ago and since 2000 they have had exclusive rights to grow Flatto™ in New Zealand.
The first variety harvested was the Flatto™ White. The Flatto™ White is a low-acid, juicy peach with a superb flavour that has hints of almond and a sweet finish.
Flattos™ have very little peach fuzz, a small stone and a flat top and bottom, making them super easy to eat and perfect for school lunch boxes or to grab on the go.
The Flatto™ range has now expanded to include Flatto™ White and Flatto™ Gold, which are both available from New Zealand supermarkets from February to mid-March.
